It was her Golden Globe speech against President Trump’s bullying of a disabled reporter that went viral around the world. But, that’s not where the story ended. It turns out we might not be seeing that much of Meryl Streep for awhile, at least, not when it comes to acting.
“I’m going to be taking sometime off to do some activism. Nothing too major, just some speeches and fund raising for anti-bulling groups”, the actress said to Entertainment Tonight.
It turns out, she’s not the biggest fan of President Trump style of campaigning. In particular, his bullying that was a hallmark of his campaign, especially in the Republican primary.
The actress went on to say: “I hope he does right by Americans, but so far I don’t think he has… I believe people with public profile have a duty to stand up to bullying when they see it. We can’t let children think this sort of behavior is acceptable, you know?”
Tell us what you think in the comment section below. Do you think she so should take time off for political activism or should she stick to acting? Will you say bye, bye or good riddance?
